Dave Portnoy said he never had heard of Stuart before, until one pizzeria put this small coastal Florida town on his radar — and he drove over two hours just to try a slice.
Portnoy, the founder of the digital media company Barstool Sports, stopped by Fantini's New Haven Style Apizza to give one of his self-proclaimed strictest and hardest "One Bite" pizza reviews, which he posted on social media Wednesday.
Portnoy uses an alias to order a large cheese pizza, but scores it on only one bite, then delivers a rating between zero and 10 in an online video review.

Owner James Fantin wanted to bring his love of apizza from New Haven, Connecticut, to the Treasure Coast. Apizza — pronounced "ah-beetz" — is a style of thin-crust, coal-fired Neapolitan pizza found almost exclusively in New Haven. Fantin had the grand opening of his Stuart site in late February.
The menu includes the Your Way "Mootz" Apizza, a classic cheese pie to which you can add your own toppings. The White Shrimp Scampizza is a signature pie with Gulf shrimp sautéed with fresh garlic, butter, lemon and a touch of white wine spread over a cheese pizza sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil and Romano grated cheese. The Alla Vodka Apizza has fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and onions sautéed in a tomato vodka cream sauce. Pizza by the slice and other Neapolitan classics are available. Prices vary based on the toppings and size of each pie.
